King William is a historic community famous for its ornate 19th-century buildings. The neighborhood is located along the San Antonio River in the Southtown Arts district and is home to beautiful mansions, cozy coffeehouses, and art studios.
 
The area is bounded by South St. Mary's, Durango, Cesar Chavez Boulevard, and Eagleland. In 1950, the area began attracting many people due to its proximity to the downtown business district. As a result, the old houses were renovated into small cottages, and the neighborhood expanded to include new modern buildings between S. Alamo and South St. Mary's Streets.

King William is home to some of the most beautiful houses in San Antonio. Many of the buildings in the neighborhood have been refurbished by residents passionate about historic preservation. The area is laid-back, and the streets are not overcrowded, making it a great place to refresh your mind away from the hustle and bustle of San Antonio. The people are friendly, and the streets are walkable, making it a fantastic place to settle. Conveniently located near downtown’s central business district (CBD), all of the basic amenities are just a stone's throw away.

First, you can visit the Guenther House, originally built in 1859, and one of King William's oldest buildings. You can then walk into San Antonio Art League and Museum, which houses over 600 artistic works. Villa Finale: Museum & Gardens, the last home of local preservationist Walter Nold Mathis, is also a good place to check out. Next, you can visit Beethoven Maennerchor, a beer garden, and the Anton Wulf House, the headquarters of the San Antonio Conservation Society.
 
King Willam is also home to beautiful parks, including Roosevelt Park with a public pool, Chris Park, established in 2005, and King William Park to walk, play, or relax. The King William Fair is the most popular event in the neighborhood, which brings people together to fundraise to protect and preserve the historical community. Brackenridge Park Golf Course, Olmos Basin Golf Course, and Riverside Golf Course are some fantastic places to enjoy golf.
