The neighborhood is home to some of the oldest landmark buildings in the U.S. However, the area has been undergoing a transition over the years that has seen the rise of new high-end towers and residential condominiums that have attracted more people.

The people of this bustling community are full of energy, and the streets are usually busy with residents going about their daily activities. Living here will give you access to the best shopping and dining options and fantastic entertainment.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Downtown has the best dining, shopping, and entertainment options throughout Dallas. The main street is full of people moving about, and most residents hang out at Pacific Plaza, a 3.7-acre park that opened in 2019.

Facilities such as The Emma Hotel and Allora provide some of the best meals in the region. You can visit Battalion if you love Italian delicacies, Pharm Table for healthy vegan foods, and The Crafty Irishman Public House if you enjoy Irish drinks. You can also visit Little Em's Oyster Bar to enjoy seafood and later grab a drink at The Moon's Daughters or Jaxon Beer Garden.

For shopping, facilities like West Village, Uptown Plaza, and Shops at Rivercenter got you covered. If you are into fashion, this busy area is home to high-end boutiques such as Indigo 1745, Forty Five Ten, and Favor the Kind.

You can then visit the Arts District, the largest city arts district in America. Spreading over 20 square blocks and covering 68 acres, the walkable district features award-winning museums such as the Dallas Museum of Art and performing art venues such as the Majestic Theater.

Next, you can visit Dallas World Zoo to view birds like penguins and Madagascar giant day geckos. If you love entertainment and festivals, check out Fiesta Parades, A Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA), and King William Fair. You can also visit Hemisfair to check out the events happening over the weekend at the facility.
